I was thinking: are any of our non-Nordic members interested in this?

If so this might be relevant for the choice of venue (it's much easier to get to southern Sweden than to Ume? if one lives in continental Europe for example)

Edit: If they are not interested now, maybe they should be! The BBQQs are a great way to spend a weekend

Of course they should!

Disregarding stuff like transportation. How is the situation regarding both indoors and outdoors places to BBQQ in Ume??
I gave Gyrm a new signature. Let's see if he notices.

Both Xan and us live next to the lake, which has some really nice places. Depends when during the summer of course, can be quite chilly during the evenings in early june. If the weather is bad we'll have to be on someones balcony i suppose.

We managed to BBQ in October didn't we? Well, it might have been terrible weather and cold but it was possible. And old Captain Morgan can keep any pirate warm.

So, what's the non-Scandinavian interest like anyway?

I am thinking of coming...but now it is a bit too early to say, depends on money ofc. and when it will actually happen. I vote for summer (because october is kinda season for prague and there is not a chance i get time off) because if i actually decide to fly there I would like to travel a bit and visit some sights. (btw prices for plane ticket are quite outrageous, also it seems i would have to change plane twice - to get to Umea)

Well, traditionally it's held around Midsummer (think mid-to-late June). I think one was in July, but yeah, June or July anyway. Most likely June.

i know its horrible to live here... "oh you wanted to go somewhere? that'll be 2000 SEK just to get out of the town *evil laugh by airplane companies*"
its better if you have a student card or if you check low price fairs at norwegian (airline company)  but yes still crappy.

Check prices to Copenhagen. You can hop on a train at the airport there and go straight to Lund. Sturup airport is a bit closer, but it's generally easier to get to Copenhagen/Kastrup.
